Hello families! It's hard to believe how much we've grown since September. As the leaves turn and we head into Thanksgiving break, I'm so proud of our readers, writers, and young scientists. Here's a look at our week.

What we learned

  • Reading: author's purpose — to inform, entertain, or persuade; fall running records show many readers reaching levels O–P
  • Language Arts: beginning opinion writing — stating a clear opinion and backing it up with reasons
  • Math: introducing division as sharing into equal groups
  • Science: building simple weather instruments to measure wind and rain
  • Social Studies: citizenship — our rights and responsibilities, and our class food drive
🔭

Coming up next

  • Thanksgiving break — no school Nov 25–27
  • Opinion writing celebration on Dec 4
  • Winter concert practice begins next week

Highlight of the week

Ask your child about our class food drive — together we collected over 200 cans for the local food pantry. What a kind, generous group of citizens!
